So my first movie Blog will be about Surf's Up. The new Animation from Sony Animation. I wish I could have started on a better movie. But hey, that's life.

Synopses: The movie follows a young Penguin called Cody and his pursuit of becoming a world class Surfer. He was inspired by Z, the world champ Surfer who came to visit Antarctica when Cody was little. Even since it has been his dream to surf, but unfortunately for him, he lacks any surfing skills.
He is looked down upon by all the other penguins on Antarctica. For a reason I might add. But, he manages to get to the island where they have the annual Z memorial Surf competition, and here is where he meets a girl and gets training from a not so unexpected friend.
My Thoughts: This movie really doesn't offer anything you have not already seen in any other animation. An underdogs becomes a hero and gets the girl. To be honest, I don't think I actually liked this movie all that much.
The way it was films, as a documentary, was an original idea and was pulled off really nicely. But when you do something like that you are bound to make a lot of mistakes. Like following people where you cannot possibly follow them if it were a real documentary.
The Water CGI is the best I've seen. I concentrated on that a bit at the end and it really is very realistic. I guess a lot of time and money went into trying to create a program that will give them that realistic water! Well done to that.
So all an all, not really a movie worth seeing, unless you are 5 years old or something and your mother wants to go do Christmas Shopping.
