Genre: Role PlayScore: 6/10
I like the Simpsons just as much as the next 20 something, but this game just didn't quite do it for me.
Synopses: There was a story? Well, yes. But it was a little...questionable.
Bart picks up a book. It happens to be the Manual for the Simpsons game. In there he learns that they all have powers and they set off to meet the Creator. Along the way they save some trees from being destroyed and save Springfield from and Alien Invasion.
The Good: Just like the series, the cut scenes are funny! Each character has different powers t help them through the stages. You need them all to finish the game.
The stages are really well thought out, and every level is different. Both in look and in the way you need to finish the stage.
The Bad: The Okay game play is totally ruined by the Camera. You are supposed to be able to control the camera position, but you find yourself struggling more to turn the camera in the direction you want it than what you spend on kicking some alien ass.
There are a few flaws in the game like places where your character seems to be floating, but all games have that.
There really isn't much to say about the Graphics as the game has a real Cartoon-slash-3D feel. It sometimes gives you the wrong perspective about how far a ledge is or where to aim to hit something.
I really wasn't a fan of the game, but if you like the Simpsons a lot, I can suggest this one.
